Dado Banatao is the managing partner of Tallwood Venture Capital. With his past experiences as an entrepreneur, Dado provides Tallwood with a unique perspective. As an engineer, he is credited with developing several key semiconductor technologies and is regarded as a Silicon Valley visionary. As an investor, he has a keen sense of trends and opportunities involving technology solutions for computing and communications.
Prior to forming Tallwood, Mr. Banatao was a venture partner at the Mayfield Fund. He has co-founded three technology startups, S3 (SBLU), Chips & Technologies (INTC), and Mostron. He has also held positions at National Semiconductor, Seeq Technologies, Intersil, and Commodore International. In 1997, he was honored with the prestigious Master Entrepreneur of the Year Award sponsored by Ernst & Young, Inc. Magazine, and Merrill Lynch Business Financial Services.
Mr. Banatao serves as Chairman for SiRF Technology (SIRF) and current Tallwood portfolio companies. He also served as Chairman and led investments in Marvell Technology Group (MRVL), Acclaim Communications, acquired by Level One (INTC), Newport Communications, acquired by Broadcom (BRCM), Cyras Systems, acquired by Ciena (CIEN), and Stream Machine, acquired by Cirrus Logic (CRUS). He holds a B.S.E.E., cum laude, from the Mapua Institute of Technology in the Philippines and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University.
Moiz M. Beguwala has served as one of SiRF's directors since September 2000. Since March 2004, Dr. Beguwala has been an independent consultant. From December 2002 to June 2003, Dr. Beguwala served as SiRF's acting Chief Executive Officer. From January 1999 to February 2004, Dr. Beguwala served as Senior Vice President and General Manager Wireless Communications of Conexant and most recently as a Senior Vice President of Conexant. From 1973 to December 1998, Dr. Beguwala held various positions at Rockwell Semiconductor Systems, Inc. Dr. Beguwala is a director of Skyworks Solutions, Inc., a publicly traded company. Dr. Beguwala holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.S. and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and an executive M.B.A. degree from the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Michael L. Canning is a veteran with 20 years' executive management experience in the semiconductor industry, with a track record for driving innovation, rapid revenue growth, and product expansion. During this time, Mike pioneered the "fabless" manufacturing model, a concept now in use by the majority of semiconductor companies. As a founding executive at Cirrus Logic Inc., he contributed to the company's success as the fastest-growth semiconductor start-up, with revenues growth from zero to $1.1 billion in ten years. At Cirrus, Mike served as president and CEO of the company's Mass Storage Company, where he was responsible for $400 million in revenues. Mike also served as president and CEO of Stream Machine Company, a digital video compression company, where he raised $33 million in funding, and later arranged a successful acquisition by Cirrus Logic.
Kanwar Chadha is responsible for establishing the company's vision, corporate strategies and strategic alliances. He has over 20 years of experience in various marketing and management positions. Prior to founding SiRF, he served as General Manager of the multimedia group and Director of Strategic Marketing at S3 Inc. where he led the development of innovative audio and video processing technologies. Before joining S3, Kanwar was the Chairman and co-founder of AQuesT, Inc., a developer of multimedia and 3D graphics acceleration products. From 1983 to 1989, he was at Intel in various product-marketing positions including Product Line Manager for the i860 RISC processor and floating point coprocessors 8087/287/387. Kanwar holds a BSEE from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi; an MS in CIS from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Mohan Gyani joins the Board of Directors as the CEO & Chairman of the Board of Roamware, Inc., a Silicon Valley private company that provides value added services to over 180 wireless services operators in over 70 countries. Mr. Gyani contributes 27 years of telecom and wireless industry experience to his role as a member of SiRF's Board. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of AT&T Wireless Mobility Services, where he led the company's domestic voice and data mobility businesses, focusing on improving operating results, building out a new nationwide GSM network, and accelerating growth. Previously, he was head of Strategy and Corporate Development and a member of the Board of Directors for Vodafone AirTouch PLC. Prior to its merger with Vodafone, Mr. Gyani was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AirTouch Communications, where he played a major operational and strategic role in the company's growth from an IPO to a $70 Billion global company in five years. Mr. Gyani graduated from San Francisco State University in 1978 with an M.B.A. in Finance, and earned a B.A. in Business Administration from San Francisco State University; where he graduated in 1973, Summa Cum Laude.
Stephen C. Sherman has served as one of SiRF's directors since January 2004. Mr. Sherman is a private investor. From May 2000 to December 2001, Mr. Sherman served as Senior Vice President of Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation, a semiconductor company. From October 1992 to December 2001, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of QT Optoelectronics, Inc., an optical electronics company, until it was acquired by Fairchild Semiconductor Corporation. Mr. Sherman holds a B.S. degree in operations management from Oklahoma State University.
James M. Smaha has served as one of SiRF's directors since October 2000. Upon retiring in 1989, Mr. Smaha served as an independent consultant, including with S3 and interWAVE Communications International Ltd., a telecommunications company. Prior to 1989, Mr. Smaha served as President and Executive Vice President of the Semiconductor Group of National Semiconductor Corporation from 1983-1989. Mr. Smaha holds a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Maine.

Sam S. Srinivasan has served as one of SiRF's directors since January 2004. Since September 1996, Mr. Srinivasan has served as the Chairman of CyberPlus Corporation, formerly a software operating business. Mr. Srinivasan founded the business of Health Language, as a part of CyberPlus in 1998 and incorporated it into a wholly owned subsidiary of CyberPlus in May 2000. From May 2000 until November 2001, Mr. Srinivasan served as Chief Executive Officer of Health Language, Inc. From May 2000 until March 2002, Mr. Srinivasan served as Chairman of Health Language, Inc. From November 1988 until March 1996, Mr. Srinivasan served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Cirrus Logic. From May 1984 until November 1988, Mr. Srinivasan served as Director of Internal Audits and subsequently as Corporate Controller of Intel Corporation. Mr. Srinivasan holds a B.A. in commerce from Madras University, India and an M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University.
